The requirement for the Confederates to get paroled was to lay down their military equipment. For most Confederates that would be the "Stacking of Arms" ceremony on April 12, but for the Confederate Artillery, their surrender was on April 11. This program will use reenactors to demonstrate what equipment was surrendered by the Confederate artillerymen. For practical reasons this program will take place in the large field (Meeks Field) across the road from the McLean House, but historically would have been down by the Appomattox River.

Presented by Appomattox Court House National Historical Park.

Hours: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
