Robert E. Lee and Ulysses S. Grant were the greatest antagonists in America's biggest bloodletting. Having waged no-holds-barred warfare on Virginia's soil 150 years ago, they share joint billing in this superb new show at the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery, Donald W. Reynolds Center for American Art and Portraiture.
