Thunder in the Valley: Cavalry Ride and Reenactment of McClausland's Resistance and Hunter's 1864 Virginia Raid

Thu 11th: "Battle of Arbor Hill" near Summerdean in Augusta County (Southwest of Staunton) followed by Federal Pursuit and Confederate Resistance Cavalry ride to Brownsburg in Rockbridge County where units will make camp.

Fri 12th: Cavalry Ride continues to the Virginia Horse Center. School program will be held by Living Historians. Cavalry units arrive in the afternoon to camp at the Cameron Farm at the Horse Center as they did 150 years ago.

Sat 13th: Camps will be open for visitors to see how the soldiers lived in the field, followed by a reenactment at the Cameron Farm, and a seminar on the Raid and the ravaging of Lexington and surrounding communities. Civil War evening ball.

Sun 14th: Camps open in the morning for visitors followed by the final reenactment.
