Things to do while in Richmond

[+] From the West

From I-64
Take Exit 183/Glenside Drive south. Continue south on Glenside Drive to the fourth traffic light (Three Chopt Road). Turn left on Three Chopt. Continue straight for .8 mile. Turn right onto Boatwright Drive (approximately .5 mile after the traffic signal). At the bottom of the hill, make a left onto Campus Drive. Make the first right into the Gateway Entrance of campus.


From US 60 (Midlothian Turnpike)
Turn left on State Route 147 (Huguenot Road) and continue approximately eight miles to Three Chopt Road. Turn left on Three Chopt Road. Turn left on Towana Road (approximately .5 mile after turning onto Three Chopt). Make a left into the Gateway Entrance of campus.

From I-95
Take exit 79. Stay to the left to merge onto I-195 S, the Downtown Expressway. Continue on I-195 S for approximately two miles. Take the Cary St./VA-147 Exit. Bear right on the ramp to turn right onto Cary Street. Continue straight on Cary for approximately two miles and pass the intersection of Three Chopt Road. At the bottom of the hill, bear right at the intersection onto River Road. Continue straight for approximately .75 mile and make the second right onto College Road. Continue straight for approximately one mile, going past the lake and the Robins Center arena. Turn right at the University of Richmond sign onto Campus Drive. Make the first right into the Gateway Entrance of campus.

From I-64 - Includes Richmond International Airport
Merge onto I-95 N toward Washington. Take exit 79. Stay to the left to merge onto I-195 S, the Downtown Expressway. Continue on I-195 S for approximately two miles. Take the Cary St./VA-147 Exit. Bear right on the ramp to turn right onto Cary Street. Continue straight on Cary for approximately two miles and pass the intersection of Three Chopt Road. At the bottom of the hill, bear right at the intersection onto River Road. Continue straight for approximately .75 mile and make the second right onto College Road. Take Exit 79 off I-95 north to I-64 west, continue west on I-64. Take Exit 183-A/Glenside Drive south. Continue south on Glenside Drive to the fifth traffic light (Three Chopt Road). Turn left on Three Chopt. Continue straight for .8 mile. Turn right onto Boatwright Drive (approximately .5 mile after the traffic signal). At the bottom of the hill, make a left onto Campus Drive. 2. What time should I arrive?

Doors open for registration check-in at 7:30 a.m. Please bring the electronic confirmation slip that you received when you registered online, along with your registrant number. This day-long conference has a full schedule, with events beginning at 8:45 a.m.

 

3. Where will I be able to park?

Parking will be provided free of charge across the street from the main entrance of the Robins Center. Signs will be posted.

 

4. If I did not order a box lunch, are there places to eat nearby?

If you did not order a box lunch, there are several restaurants within five miles of campus that can you go to for lunch.

 

5. Where should I stay during my visit to Richmond?

There are hotels to fit any budget throughout Richmond. You can stay close to the University of Richmond campus, near the airport, or in the downtown area.

 

6. I'd like to stay in town a little longer. What are some other interesting things to do in the Richmond area?

Plan to extend your conference stay by a day or two and experience all of the history and beauty that Richmond has to offer. Whether you are a Civil War buff, art and history lover, or adventurer - - Richmond offers something for everyone!
